Job summary

First Coast Security Solutions is seeking Armed Protective Security Officers in Creston, IA and surrounding areas. The role requires travel, weekend and holiday availability, and duties include controlling access, patrolling facilities, and responding to incidents to protect people and property.

This part-time position offers competitive hourly pay with a training rate of $17.75/hour and a base rate of $37.69/hour plus $6.11 Health & Welfare.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.
US citizen.
Valid Social Security Card.
Reliable transportation.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Must obtain and maintain DHS/FPS suitability.
Maintain required licenses, permits and certifications.
Must possess or obtain required license.
Two years of verifiable experience in law enforcement or honorable military service.
High School Diploma, GED, or 60 college credits.

Responsibilities

Control access to client facilities by verifying admittance and screening visitors.
Provide courteous, professional interactions reflecting on the client and security department.
Communicate clearly with visitors, employees, and team members.
Monitor entrances, exits, and activity including CCTV and remote access systems.
Patrol assigned areas on foot or in vehicle to identify hazards and violations.
Respond to incidents such as fires, medical issues, disturbances, or weather events.
Protect evidence and secure scenes, including setting up barriers.
Complete logs and reports with accuracy.
Report suspicious activities or safety concerns to client representatives and authorities.
Follow safety rules, policies, and site procedures; seek clarification when needed.
