Job summary

First Coast Security Solutions is seeking Armed Protective Security Officers (PSOs) to serve Spencer, Iowa and surrounding areas. The role requires travel and weekend/holiday availability to support federally owned and leased facilities, providing safety for personnel and property.

The position is part-time, with a training rate of $17.75/hour and a base rate of $37.69/hour plus $6.11 Health & Welfare, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must possess a valid Social Security Card
• Must have reliable transportation
• Fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English
• Must obtain and maintain DHS/FPS suitability
• Must maintain required licenses, permits and certifications

Responsibilities

• Control access to client facilities by verifying admittance, screening visitors, and preventing unauthorized entry
• Provide courteous, professional interactions reflecting positively on the client and security department
• Communicate clearly with visitors, employees, and team members
• Monitor entrances, exits, and facility activity including CCTV and remote access systems
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to identify hazards and ensure safety
• Respond to incidents following established procedures
• Protect evidence and secure incident scenes as required
• Complete logs and reports with proper grammar and accuracy
• Report suspicious activities or safety concerns to client representatives
• Follow safety rules, policies and site procedures
• Other duties may be assigned as needed
