Hana Technologies & Systems, Inc. is seeking an Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) for National Capitol Region buildings in Washington, DC. The role emphasizes safety, access control, and incident response, requiring weapons qualifications and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years armed security experience within the past five years.
• Minimum 1 year law enforcement in full-duty status within the US.
• Minimum 2 years honorable service in US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve.
• High school diploma or GED.
• US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current military members or honorable discharge.
• Able to work all shifts, any days of the week.
• Must have a Social Security Card.
• Ability to obtain favorable verification through E-Verify.
• Fluently speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Possession of a current State-issued Driver's License or State ID.
• Proficiency with firearms.
• Ability to handle crises calmly and efficiently.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented and safety-conscious.
• High level of ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Enforce access control to permit entry to authorized individuals, packages, and vehicles.
• Operate walk-through and handheld metal detectors, x-ray machines to screen people and items.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections.
• Identify and address security threats per protocols.
• Prevent, detect and apprehend unauthorized access or violations.
• Execute emergency closure procedures and assist during crises.
• Roaming patrols and interior/perimeter surveillance for breaches.
• Provide exceptional customer service to employees and visitors.
• Monitor and operate intrusion, surveillance, and access control systems.
• Provide escort and courier services for personnel and property transport.
• Perform emergency responses including CPR, AED, and first aid as needed.
• Maintain accurate reports, records, and logs.
• Remain alert up to 12 hours; post up to 4 hours without breaks.
• Utilize weapons when necessary following guidelines.
