Job summary

Triple Canopy seeks Armed Protective Security Officers to staff armed posts and provide security for US Government property. May also work in a Control Center.

You will meet the public, screen visitors, report incidents, conduct roving patrols, and maintain training and fitness standards in a 24/7 busy office environment.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with a valid social security card.
• Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three qualifying paths: 3+ years armed guard experience, military/National Guard service, or state police/law enforcement training.

POSITION SUMMARY

ArmedProtective SecurityOfficers will staff armedposts and provide security for the personnel and property of, and visitors to, assigned US Government Property. May also work in a Control Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Protect personnel and property in a professional manner.
• Meet and deal tactfully and politely withgeneralpublic and visitors.
• Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors.
• Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations.
• Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols.
• Complete all reports and paperwork asrequired.
• Ability tomaintainexcellent detection rate on x ray machine.
• Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Secure entrances and exits during emergencies.
• Control keys and lock combinations.
• Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone.
• Understand andcomply withall requirements defined within company documents to include Post and General Orders, plans, policies, procedures.
• Observe and report all offenses/incidents.
• Provide first aid, CPR, andassistduringemergenciesas necessary.
• Must be able to wear protective body armor asa partof the duty uniform.
• Maintain mandated training requirementsin accordance withcompany guidance.
• Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications.
• Ensure safetyrequirementscompliance and safe work practices.
• Support safety programsParticipatein Quality and Process Improvement programs.
• Worksite is a 24/7 location based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• US Citizen with a valid social security card.
• Mustpossessa minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Possess at least one of the following experience/ education criteria:
  • (1) minimum of three(3)years of verifiable Armed guard experience withinpastfive years.
  • (2) Three(3)years of military or National Guard.
  • (3) Successful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer's standard training course.
  • Pass andmaintainmedical and physical fitness standards.
• Meet background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirements.
• Must have the ability toacquire, andmaintain, a DHS Suitability.
• Successful completion of Protective Security Officer Training and certification.
• May berequiredto lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting,stretchingand bending throughout the workday.
