Job summary

Constellis is seeking Armed Protective Security Officers to staff armed posts and secure government property in Maryland. Responsibilities include escorting visitors, patrolling, reporting incidents, and handling emergencies with composure. Must maintain medical/physical fitness and pass DHS suitability.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of Protective Security Officer training.

Qualifications

• Must be US Citizen with valid social security card.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One of: minimum of three years verifiable Armed guard experience within past five years; three years military or National Guard; completion of state certified law enforcement education or police officer’s standard training.
• Pass and maintain medical and physical fitness standards.
• Meet background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirements.
• Must have the ability to acquire, and maintain, a DHS Suitability.
• Successful completion of Protective Security Officer Training and certification.
• May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending.

Responsibilities

• Protect personnel and property in a professional manner.
• Meet and deal tactfully with general public and visitors.
• Screen and process visitors.
• Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations.
• Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols.
• Complete all reports and paperwork as required.
• Maintain detection rate on X-ray machine.
• Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Secure entrances and exits during emergencies.
• Control keys and lock combinations.
• Communicate via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone.
• Follow Post and General Orders, plans, policies, procedures.
• Observe and report offenses/incidents.
• Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies.
• Wear protective body armor as part of duty uniform.
• Maintain mandated training, fitness, weapons qualifications.
• Ensure safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Support safety programs and participate in QA initiatives.
• Worksite is a 24/7 location in a busy office environment.

• Worksite is a 24/7 location based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• US Citizen with a valid social security card.


• Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.


• Possess at least one of the following experience/ education criteria:
  
  
  
  • (1) minimum of three(3) years of verifiable Armed guard experience within past five years.
  
  
  • (2) Three(3) years of military or National Guard.
  
  
  • (3) Successful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer’s standard training course.
