Job summary

Constellis is seeking a security professional to staff armed posts for US Government property in the Bethesda/Greater DC area. Responsibilities include maintaining post orders, conducting vehicle searches, reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies. The role requires a Secret clearance, 21+ years old, and a high school diploma.

• Must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident who has served in the US armed forces.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Within the last 5 years: 3 years armed security experience or 2 years US military with honorable discharge or 1 year law enforcement with full-service US police.
• Must have Secret security clearance for this role. No sponsoring.
• Meet all contract requirements, including medical, drug screening, psychological, background check, training, and FPS suitability.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with state requirements and local criteria for Protective Security Officers.
• Not inclusive - Man post in accordance with government Post Orders.
• Perform vehicle searches to detect unauthorized material and prevent its access into the building.
• Serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions.
• Detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at/near assigned post.
• Report all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies.
• Respond to emergencies (medical, bomb threats, alarms) by following procedures.
• Physically control violent or unruly crowds.
• Attempt to subdue person in life/death situations.
• Operate a motor vehicle if on applicable post.
• Work hours 24/7; weekend availability required.
• Work environment busy; frequent interruptions.
• Outdoor conditions incl. extreme temperatures and weather.
• Subject to high noise levels.
• Heavy work: exert up to 200 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, 20 lb constantly.
• Must have visual/audio acuity to operate vehicles/equipment including firearms.
• Hazards include moving parts/vehicles, electrical, heat or chemicals.
• May be fitted for respirator.
• Stand long periods; may need stairs/ladders and uneven terrain.

• Work is typically based in a busy environment and subject to frequent interruptions.
• May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather.

• Heavy work: Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must have visual and audio acuity tooperatemotor vehicles or heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels.
• Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• Maybe requiredto be fitted for and/or wear a respirator.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may berequiredto climb stairs or ladders and walk-up inclines and on uneven terrain.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident who has servedin the US armed forces.
• At least 21 years of age
• Mustpossessa minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Possess the following within the last 5 years:
• 3 years of armed security experience
• or 2 years of US military experience, with an honorable discharge
• or 1 year of law enforcement experience with a full-service, US police department
• Must have Secret security clearance for this role. No sponsoring.
• Meet all contract requirements, including medical, drug screening, psychological, background check, training, and FPS suitability.
