Qualifications

• Provide professional customer service to staff, visitors, and individuals in custody.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facility grounds, buildings, and perimeter.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas and verify credentials.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and disturbances in a calm, solution-focused manner.
• Maintain equipment including firearms and communications devices and document activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and individuals in custody by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of correctional facility grounds, buildings, perimeter areas, access points, and adjacent property as assigned.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized entry or suspicious activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate facility personnel and law enforcement when required.
• Maintain assigned equipment, including authorized firearms and communications devices, and complete accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
