Job summary

Constellation is seeking a Nuclear Security Officer to defend the station and protect nuclear material. The role includes armed patrols, access control, and 12-hour shifts with overtime as needed. Candidates must meet stringent health, background, and security requirements to obtain unescorted access.

The position offers comprehensive benefits and requires passing physical and firearms qualifications consistent with NRC guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ and eligible for nuclear unescorted access.
• Must obtain firearm permit and pass background checks.
• Must pass drug/alcohol testing and NRC requirements.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Strong observation, patrol, and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain qualifications for position.
• Conduct patrols and inspections.
• Monitor access to security areas.
• Perform search activities.
• Respond to threats and contingency events.
• Perform equipment testing.
• Serve as Armed Response Force member for nuclear security centers.
• Conduct armed patrols (interior and exterior).
• Control access and egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Follow NRC requirements and site procedures.
