Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide a visible deterrent and protect patients, staff, and visitors across hospital campuses in Texas. You will patrol facilities, respond to codes, conduct investigations, and ensure a safe environment while wearing CHRISTUS-approved uniforms.

The role requires flexibility in hours and the ability to rotate between facilities, including travel as needed. Proficiency with security systems and incident reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years armed security experience preferred (military service acceptable).
• Law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets competencies as a leader of self/others/leaders.
• Conducts security patrols of facilities and grounds.
• Identifies trends and recommends actions on security issues.
• Prepares incident reports with factual details and timely submissions.
• Responds to service requests courteously and promptly.
• Secures property, manages lost items, and enforces rules.
• Assists clinical/non-clinical staff with combative individuals.
• Operates security systems and generates daily activity reports.
• Maintains safety by reporting hazards observed during rounds.
• Adapts client assessment methods to individual needs.
• Demonstrates handgun, baton, restraints, and radio proficiency.
• Handles stressful situations and multiple tasks effectively.
