Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks an Armed Security Officer to provide a visible deterrent and security for patients, associates, and visitors. You will patrol hospital facilities and premises, respond to codes and disasters, and coordinate with security supervisors to protect assets.

The role requires flexibility to rotate between facilities, travel as needed, and adherence to the CHRISTUS approved uniform policy. An active Texas commission and relevant training are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years of armed security experience preferred (may be substituted by Honorable Military Service).
• Law enforcement experience preferred.
• Healthcare security experience preferred.
• Verbal De-escalation training must be completed within 60 days of hire.
• BLS required within 60 days of hire.
• Pre-employment assessments including MMPI-2-RF-PCIR, CPI, PPSSR, PEI; and a clinical interview.
• Random drug test screening required.
• Valid Driver's license required and driving record must meet CHRISTUS Health standards.

Responsibilities

• Conducts frequent security patrols of facilities and grounds.
• Identifies and reports trends related to security issues; recommends actions.
• Documents incident information with proper grammar; submits timely reports.
• Responds to service requests promptly in a courteous and expeditious manner.
• Assists with collection, inventory and return of lost and found items and patient valuables.
• Enforces CHRISTUS Health policies and state laws.
• Controls facility parking per rules and regulations.
• Assists staff with combative patients or visitors.
• Demonstrates competence with security systems and CCTV operations.
• Generates electronic daily activity and incident reports via PC.
• Reports safety hazards observed during rounds.
