The position emphasizes reading and reporting incidents clearly, maintaining safety, and supporting clinical staff with patient handling while staying physically fit and alert.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Verbal de-escalation training must be completed within 60 days of hire.
• BLS required within 60 days of hire.
• Firearms, baton, defensive tactics training completed prior to authorization to carry.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• For Texas positions: active Level 3 Commission with TDPSPSB or must obtain prior to hire.
• Successful completion of pre-employment assessments (MMPI-2-RF-PCIR; CPI; PPSSR; PEI) and a clinical interview.
• Random drug test screening required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts frequent security patrols of facilities and grounds.
• Identifies and reports security trends and recommends actions.
• Takes initial information for incident reports; uses proper grammar and submits timely.
• Responds to service requests from various communication channels.
• Secures and inventories lost items and patient valuables as policy.
• Enforces CHRISTUS Health rules, regulations, and laws.
• Controls facility parking and enforces parking rules.
• Assists staff with combative patients or visitors.
• Operates security systems and generates electronic reports.
