Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Three to five years of military, law enforcement, or armed security experience (preferred).
• Must hold Department of Justice or equivalent firearm certification.
• Firearm must meet hospital requirements and be approved prior to use.
• Maintains constant vigilance, communicates clearly, and makes sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols of hospital buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor for unauthorized individuals, safety hazards, and suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms, non-emergency calls, and security-related incidents.
• Assist with de-escalation of situations, including behavioral or medical hold situations as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when appropriate.
• Enforce parking regulations and provide assistance and direction to patients and visitors.
• Carry and maintain an approved firearm for defensive purposes in accordance with hospital policy.
