Qualifications

• Valid GA Driver's License and current BLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years experience in military, police, corrections, private security.
• Ability to work well with others and accept direction from supervisors.
• Adaptable in changing situations and work assignments.
• Legible handwriting and ability to prepare written reports.
• Effective computer skills.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and facility policies.
• Mandatory de-escalation, baton, firearms, hospital defensive tactics, taser training.

Responsibilities

• Make routine and random tours of facility and grounds; report findings.
• Initiate investigations on security incidents and report findings daily.
• Participate in drills and document training per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions; participate actively.
• Obtain required weapon certification and maintain equipment.
• Respond to requests for assistance; unlock/lock doors, escort funds, provide safety escorts.
• Interact with hospital publics to maintain policies and ensure cooperation.
• Maintain accuracy and accountability when handling funds and valuables.
• Provide timely back-up in confrontational situations and de-escalate when possible.
