Job summary

Trinity Health's Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY seeks a Licensed Sr. Security Officer for FT Evening shift to safeguard patients, staff and visitors.

You will perform armed, uniformed security, assess threats, respond to incidents, and coordinate with local law enforcement while reporting to the Lead Security Officer. This role requires flexibility to cover shifts across SPHP facilities as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED certificate required.
Valid NYS Driver's License.
Unexpired NYS Armed Security Guard License (includes firearms training and a valid NYS pistol permit).
Minimum of five years Armed Security Guard experience.
Five years Healthcare/Hospital security or five years Law Enforcement preferred.
Knowledge of the New York Penal Law & Criminal Procedure Law.
Knowledge of the use of force continuum and its application within a private security setting.
Active police officer certification; active police officers required to obtain NYS Armed Security Guard license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide armed, uniformed security presence throughout Samaritan Hospital campuses.
Assess threats, provide immediate response to incidents, and mitigate offenses.
Make thorough reports and submit to Lead Security Officer and SPHP leadership.
Coordinate with law enforcement agencies based on threat assessment and offenses.
Pickup hours as needed at acute care facilities beyond primary location.
