Pac-Tac Protective Solutions is seeking an armed security guard for retail locations across the Portland metro area, including Salem. The role emphasizes protecting assets while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional security presence.

The position requires de-escalation and incident reporting, with shifts across day, swing, and some graveyard hours. Uniforms and equipment are provided; firearm licensing and training must meet state standards.

Qualifications

• Previous armed security, military, law enforcement, or retail loss prevention experience.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to remain calm and professional during high-stress situations.
• Training in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional security appearance.
• Engage with customers and employees in a friendly, approachable manner.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and disruptive behavior.
• Assist customers with directions, store information, and general inquiries.
• Monitor store activity to identify and deter theft, fraud, safety hazards, and policy violations.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the store and parking areas.
• Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents while prioritizing the safety of all parties.
• Prepare accurate incident, activity, and investigative reports.
• Coordinate with store management, law enforcement, and emergency responders when necessary.
• Enforce company policies and procedures with professionalism and respect.
• Maintain firearm proficiency, licensing, and training standards in compliance with state regulations.
• 8-9 Hour Shifts, standing/walking required

ARMED GUARD - RETAIL LOCATION - CURRENT LICENSE PREFERRED

Location: Multiple Locations in the Portland Metro (Multnomah, Washigton and Clackamas Counties), Salem, Eugene

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, On-Call (Denote in application which you are interested in)

DAY SHIFT/SWING SHIFT, Preference given to applicants willing to work any shift including Graveyard Shifts

Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and assignment

Employer provided uniforms and Equipment, Must be able to provide own firearm and lease to company (Approved list of firearms - Strict)

Position Summary
