Job summary

Armorous Security is hiring Armed Emergency Support Officers (ESO I) to provide armed security coverage across the Bay Area. This is an entry point for candidates pursuing a BSIS Firearm Permit and building a career in security.

Pay is $26.00 per hour and the role is On-Call / Per-Diem (non-guaranteed hours). Availability includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and shifts day to night. Candidates with 1 year or less of security experience are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active BSIS Guard Card and Firearm Permit (California).
• Proven ability to safely carry, maintain, and deploy a firearm in compliance with company and BSIS standards.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Able to pass a standard background check.
• Reliable transportation to travel between assigned sites.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while carrying out safety, security, and emergency response procedures at assigned sites.
• Accept and work coverage shifts as offered by dispatch, including short-notice and emergency assignments.
• Respond promptly to shift assignments across multiple sites, including unfamiliar locations with minimal notice.
• Patrol buildings, posts, and perimeters, and monitor access at entrances and gates.
• Safely carry, maintain, and deploy a firearm in accordance with company policy, state law, and BSIS use‑of‑force guidelines.
• De‑escalate situations calmly and professionally.
• Write clear, accurate reports of daily activity and incidents.

Armorous Security is hiring Armed Emergency Support Officers (ESO I) to provide flexible, reliable armed security coverage across the Bay Area.
This is a strong entry point for candidates who are newer to holding a BSIS Firearm Permit and want to build a career in armed security.

Pay: $26.00/hr

Employment Type: On-Call / Per-Diem (Non-Guaranteed Hours)

Classification: Non-Exempt

Coverage Area: Bay Area — Richmond, San Francisco, San Jose, Fairfield, and surrounding cities. You’ll cover different sites across the region, so reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between locations is a must.

Availability Required: Must be available for some or all weekdays, weekends, and holidays, across day, swing, and night (graveyard) shifts. The more flexible your availability, the more shifts we can offer you.

Experience: 1 year or less of security experience (candidates without prior experience may qualify through our onboarding and firearm qualification program)
