Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) is seeking Armed Transportation Officers for future openings. Role reports to Shift Supervisor and involves secure detention, detainee transport, and perimeters security. Must hold NYS pistol permit, Armed Guard Card, and Class C CDL with passenger endorsement; background and drug screening required.

Training wage is $17.72/hour; post-training wage is $35.97/hour. Position is on-site in Wisconsin with opportunities under a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interacting with the public.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have NYS pistol permit and Armed Guard Card.
• Must possess Class C CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Pre-employment and random drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises detainee behavior and controls during facility operation.
• Escorts detainees using approved restraints per policy.
• Communicates effectively with staff and detainees via approved devices.
• Performs searches of detainees, vehicles, and areas for contraband.
• Maintains custody and documents detainee location.
• Transports detainees securely using ICE approved restraints and vehicles.
• Maintains facility security at outer perimeter, main gate and lobby.
