Job summary

Walden Security is recruiting experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract. Duties include entrance control, patrolling, escorting judges, and enforcing law and order throughout court facilities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years as a certified law enforcement officer or equivalent, valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED.
• At least three calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer (or equivalent) within last seven years.
• Experience must include general arrest authority.
• Language Skills: read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: valid driver’s license and DOJ clearance; completion of certified law enforcement training academy.
• Other Qualifications: must be at least 21 years old; pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Physical Demands: meet medical standards per US Marshals Service; accommodations may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control and operate screening equipment to detect weapons and prohibited items.
• Perform roving patrol of court facilities and grounds.
• Perform stationary post assignments, monitor CCTV and duress alarms.
• Perform escort duties for judges and court personnel.
• Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties.
• Enforce federal law and protect employees, property, and the public.
• Prepare reports on contract performance and incidents.
• Court attendance: secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices.
• Preserve order in courtrooms and enforce orders.
