Job summary

Lawrence Technological University is seeking an Armed Campus Safety Officer for the midnight shift on a part-time basis. The officer will patrol campus, respond to emergencies and provide first aid when needed, ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This position requires prior sworn law enforcement experience, solid judgment, the ability to work irregular hours, and a commitment to the university's values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree is preferred.
• Experience as a sworn law enforcement officer is required.
• Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
• Strong judgment and common sense for related situations.
• Understanding of Use of Force continuum and deadly force.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• First responder to campus emergencies to protect life and property.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
• Patrol campus on foot and in a marked vehicle.
• Identify and report suspicious persons or situations.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain security logs.
• Escort individuals as needed and provide security at events.
