Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join the Federal Buildings team in Arlington, VA. You will support analyses and designs for critical projects, learning from professional engineers and designers in a mentored environment.

You will gain exposure to coordination, CAD software, data collection, and modeling, building on your structural coursework while embracing Jacobs’ culture of collaboration, learning, and inclusion. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Citizenship in United States; CPT work authorization not eligible.
• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Architectural Engineering degree with emphasis on Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Completion of at least 3 years of collegiate coursework before internship start.
• Working knowledge of MS Office programs, specifically Excel.
• Live within commutable distance to Arlington, VA office and able to work in-person daily.

Responsibilities

• Assist in structural analysis and design for projects.
• Support project coordination and collaboration with engineers and designers.
• Perform increasingly complex calculations as designs develop.
• Learn to communicate structural requirements with paper and model representations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentors to ensure quality output.
