We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Insurance Analytics team. The team develops analytical products such as driving scores, mobility attributes, and claims outcome predictions. The Data Scientist will work with data scientists and data engineers to extract value from our data assets, creating models and discovering signals from telematics, insurance, and third-party data sources. The role involves developing analytical approaches to support our products using data science, coding, and unique perspectives.

Responsibilities include:

1. Creating and deploying models, supporting existing models in the market
2. Exploring new data sources to develop predictors of driving risk and insurance metrics
3. Collaborating with data engineers and actuaries to refine products
4. Following data science best practices, including peer reviews, documentation, and compliance
5. Expanding skills through development opportunities and learning new tools and techniques

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience applying data science to solve business problems; more experience may lead to a senior role
• Insurance industry experience is a plus but not required
• Background in data science, analytics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related fields
• Experience with statistical or machine learning models for business applications
• Ability to work efficiently with large, complex data sets
• Proficiency in Python or R; SQL/Spark experience is a plus
• Familiarity with distributed computing and server environments
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) is advantageous
• Team-oriented, collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to good documentation
• Curious and eager to learn new techniques and technologies

Additional Information:

Compensation ranges from $78,600 to $142,275 annually, based on experience and qualifications. The role requires a background check.
