The role focuses on hands-on labs, greenhouse work, and field experiences, with an emphasis on safety, differentiation, and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible to obtain an Illinois CTE Occupational Educator Endorsement in Agriculture, or has sufficient agriculture industry experience to qualify for an ACA credential.
• Possesses a valid HX Science Endorsement, allowing instruction in Biology and Zoology at the secondary level.
• Experience teaching agricultural education courses such as animal science, plant science, agribusiness, or related subjects.
• Knowledge of and experience supporting FFA programs, student leadership development, and SAE projects.
• Strong classroom management, curriculum development, and instructional skills.

• Position Type: 35 hours per week | School Year

• Develop and deliver instruction in agricultural subjects such as animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and agricultural mechanics.

• Supervise hands-on learning experiences, including labs, greenhouses, school farms, and agricultural shop activities while maintaining safety standards.
• Advise and support student participation in FFA activities, leadership development, competitions, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.

• Strong classroom management, curriculum development, and instructional skills, with the ability to engage high school students in both classroom and hands-on agricultural learning environments.
