Responsibilities
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters individuality, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and adapt the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student through differentiated instruction.
  • Establish effective, positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, other support staff, and administrators.
  • Apply sound principles of learning and motivation in the planning, implementation and assessment phases of instructional delivery.
  • Utilize a variety of quality classroom management techniques to maintain a highly productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with grade‑level members in planning curriculum, units, and classroom lessons.
  • Commit to the district’s school improvement process and curriculum development effort.
  • Potential opportunities within our FFA program.
Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Secondary Science Teaching Certificate with DI/DX and HX (Agriscience and Natural Resources) and VA (CTE Vocational Agriscience and Natural Resources) endorsements preferred.
  • Displays a high degree of knowledge in teaching pedagogy at the secondary level.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the Michigan Content Standards provided by MDE.
  • Ability to apply technology integration to promote student learning.
  • Ability to communicate well at various levels with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Ability to analyze assessment data to plan student intervention.
  • Evidence of a positive attitude and human relation skills.
  • Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters.
  • High level of flexibility.

Reports To: Building Principal
Salary and Benefits: $160 per day
