Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. seeks an Area Vice President to lead regional operations, P&L, and growth across waste collection and landfill activities. You will drive cost optimization, safety, and regulatory compliance while managing regional teams and key client relationships.

You will develop regional strategies, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and ensure high standards of efficiency, performance, and service across all lines of business. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field
• 10+ years of leadership experience in the waste and recycling industry
• Experience with multi-location, multi-million dollar P&L performance
• Experience managing large, diverse teams across field operations
• Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and business development skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

• Lead regional strategies for growth, efficiency, sustainability, and market expansion.
• Manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, revenue maximization, and cost control of a geographical area.
• Oversee operations, logistics, and implement best practices for collection, sorting, and disposal.
• Maintain client programs, negotiate contracts, and build relationships with generators and processors.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to teams while fostering a strong safety culture.
• Drive environmental initiatives and track KPIs for waste diversion and AFR usage.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and safety across the organization.
