Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials is seeking an Area Transportation Operations Manager in the Dallas, TX area. The role partners with operations leadership, safety teams, and business leaders to improve utilization, service levels, and overall performance.

The candidate will manage regional transportation operations, oversee P&L, monitor KPIs, and lead regional transportation personnel with a focus on continuous improvement and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, transportation, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
• 5+ years of transportation, logistics, or fleet management experience with multi-site oversight.
• Strong understanding of transportation operations, DOT compliance, fleet utilization, and safety management.
• Proven experience managing budgets and P&L responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and personnel development experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage regional transportation operations to ensure operational efficiency, profitability, and service excellence.
• Oversee and manage regional P&L performance, identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs including utilization, safety performance, equipment productivity, and turnover.
• Develop action plans to address gaps and improve performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop transportation personnel across the region.
• Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning initiatives.
• Provide coaching and performance management to regional operations teams and frontline leadership.
• Promote employee engagement and professional development opportunities.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

About You

We Require:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and transportation related reporting systems.
• Familiarity with CapEx processes and capital planning.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, multi-location environment.
