Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead capital projects aimed at improving cement plant operations and profitability.

You will develop project scopes, cost estimates, and manage cross-functional teams, including contractors and vendors, to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery. Strong leadership and communication are essential for driving continuous improvement in a 24/7 plant setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering required with mechanical, chemical, electrical or civil emphasis.
  • Experience in heavy industrial 24/7 plant operations.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and cost control capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information and drawings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and delegation skills.
  • Experience with commissioning leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project, and CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capital project scopes, cost estimates, justifications, and cost control plans.
  • Coordinate field representatives, contractors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timely completion.
  • Lead projects safely in conformance with plant rules and company policies.
  • Provide information and training on new installations.
  • Maintain documentation for vendor access and project records.
  • Support RCA and problem-solving initiatives for continuous improvement.

Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a Senior Project Manager with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, the primary objective is to provide engineering services and project management skills to implement capital projects to improve cement plant operations and profitability.

About the Role


  • Developed studies may prompt investments or modifications with support from contractors or personnel.

  • Performs all task in safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.

  • Good interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with plant personnel and contractors, as the role requires autonomy and initiative due to the Plant Manager's focus on short-term issues.

  • Prepare capital project scope, cost estimates, justifications, and cost control tracking to ensure budgetary compliance and successful start-up and operation of projects.

  • Coordinates and leads field representatives, contractors, and suppliers to ensure correctness, quality, and timely completion of projects.

  • Ensure successful project execution through studies and modifications.

  • Follow internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources.

  • Promote new technologies and concepts for competitiveness.

  • Provide information and training on new installations.

  • Provides leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating, as the situation requires.

  • Maintain required documentation for vendor access.

  • Provides training to plant personnel on new equipment usage.

  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.

  • Participates with plant production and maintenance teams to provide engineering resources and knowledge transfer, including RCA and other problem-solving tools


About You


  • Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical or civil).

  • Previous mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial 24/7 plant operations.

  • Strong conceptual and operational planning skills, project management skills, budgeting, and cost control methods.

  • Reads, analyzes, and interpret technical information, structural and engineering drawings.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills through personal standards of conduct work, work ethics, project initiation and ability to delegate.

  • Demonstrated commissioning leadership skills.

  • Above average computer skills.

  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suites, Project, and CAD.

  • Leadership capabilities with supervisory/managerial career aspirations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be able to work as a part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in their functional area as well as the overall plant operations.

  • Must be able to meet unscheduled responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.

  • Must display good employability skills (attendance, job performance, attitude, willingness to work, etc.)
