Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an Area Manager for the Transportation Office in California to lead a high-performing team and optimize transportation services.

The role focuses on timely, safe delivery of goods and continuous improvement across logistics operations. You will direct staffing, scheduling, reporting, and training while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, driving efficiency, and maintaining strong internal and external partnerships.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics experience OR 1 year transportation experience
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to guide diverse teams

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and associates
• Implement the area business plan by setting goals, staffing, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet production, quality, and safety targets
• Prepare, review, and analyze business reports to manage productivity
• Ensure associates are trained in logistics and company policies, monitor compliance, and maintain procedures and supporting documentation
• Address concerns from associates, customers, and suppliers and make recommendations
• Supervise and develop associates and leaders, participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation
• Ensure equipment availability for scheduled maintenance by coordinating with service shops and local offices
