Job summary

Beck’s Superior Hybrids in Champaign, IL seeks an Area Team Leader to lead and develop a sales team across Northeast Illinois. You’ll focus on recruitment, leadership of Seed Advisors, and adoption of Seed IQ systems to drive area growth.

You will guide dealer recruitment, coach Seed Advisors, and align with company vision while delivering a superior customer experience through your team, reporting to the Regional Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Drive Recruitment: ensure dealer network within the area is healthy and well-managed.
• Leadership and Development of Seed Advisors: develop strategic plans to generate acre growth and hold teams accountable.
• Lead Seed IQ system mastery with Seed Advisors: coach on Seed IQ systems for differentiated conversations with dealers/customers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Regional Business Manager or Director of Sales and Marketing.

This position is responsible for the leadership and development of a sales team within an assigned area. The role is focused on 3 main areas; Leadership & Development of Seed Advisors, Leading and driving recruitment efforts of full time and dealer candidates and leading the adoption of usage of Seed IQ systems amongst the sales team to help drive overall area sales growth. This position is expected to promote and support the company vision, polices, programs and products. This position is authorized to perform the steps necessary to ensure that its responsibilities are met.

This position will serve the marketing territory of Northeast Illinoiswhich would include most counties bordered by DeKalb east to Cook, south to Edgar, west to McLean, and back north to DeKalb. The general territory could change and flex based on who we hire in the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Drive Recruitment
  • Ensure the dealer network within the specific ATL area is healthy, productive and well-managed by Seed Advisors.
  • Work with Seed Advisors to identify areas that do not have adequate dealer representation
  • Assist Seed Advisors in the identification and recruitment of dealer candidates.
• Leadership and Development of Seed Advisors
  • Develop and help execute strategic plans with the Seed Advisors to generate acre growth in their areas of focus.
  • Hold sales team members accountable for meeting or exceeding expectations and responsibilities.
  • Identify and educate Seed Advisors on areas of opportunity to develop the Seed Advisors skills.
• Lead Seed IQ system mastery with Seed Advisors
  • Become knowledgeable on all Seed IQ systems.
  • Coach and develop Seed Advisors knowledge of Seed IQ systems.
  • Coach and develop Seed Advisors abilities to utilize Seed IQ systems to have a differentiated conversation with Dealers, customers, and prospects.
• Perform other related duties as may be required by the Regional Business Manager or the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Job Requirements

1.Education and training:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an agricultural related field of study preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

2.Technical knowledge:

• Basic computer and current software skills.
• A working knowledge of agronomics.
• Knowledge of all Beck’s Seed IQ systems.

3.Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in agricultural sales or related industry with a Bachelor of Science Degree or:
• A minimum of ten (10) years field sales experience.

4. Physical Demands

• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate may be required.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted.
