General Purpose:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overseeing general operations, and supervising staff when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and executing operational processes.

Essential Functions:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining awareness on the sales floor.
  • Ensure security of the building, including controlling entrances/exits, checking EAS devices, and safeguarding cash and merchandise.
  • Maintain clear egress routes and responsible for emergency procedures and fire alarm testing.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent the company brand, maintain professional appearance, and ensure store cleanliness and merchandise standards.
General Merchandising:
  • Oversee merchandise recovery, sizing, markdowns, receiving, and organization of stockrooms.
  • Ensure proper merchandising and back-stock management, reducing damage and maintaining presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow loss prevention practices, safeguard confidential information, and monitor security systems.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Maximize checkout efficiency, train associates, and manage equipment and supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness, ensure proper tagging, and enforce return policies.
Administrative Duties:
  • Handle cash, deposits, payroll, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Competencies:
  • Work process management, business acumen, planning, talent development, collaboration, leadership, communication, accountability.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, prior supervisory experience preferred, familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, availability for evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements & ADA:
  • Ability to use store equipment, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly; stockroom roles may require lifting over 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Retail associates and stockroom leads (if applicable).
