General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overseeing general operations, supervising associates, and acting as the Manager on Duty. They handle opening and closing the store, ensure merchandise presentation, maintain cleanliness, and execute operational processes.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain high awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment.
  • Secure the building, including managing entry/exit controls, EAS devices, cash security, and receiving procedures.
  • Ensure clear egress to emergency exits and handle safety procedures.
  • Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms as needed.
Customer Service
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
  • Recognize and appreciate associates' efforts.
Personal and Store Brand
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
  • Manage daily trash removal.
General Merchandising
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, markdowns, and receiving are done per standards.
  • Handle merchandise processing, organization, and back-stock management.
  • Maintain compliance with presentation guidelines and signage.
Loss Prevention
  • Follow loss prevention programs, maintain a visible presence, and safeguard assets.
  • Conduct security inspections and ensure confidentiality and integrity.
Front End Supervision
  • Oversee front-end operations, ensure efficient checkout, and coach associates.
  • Manage equipment, supplies, and customer flow.
Fitting Rooms
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of fitting rooms.
  • Ensure proper tagging and return of merchandise.
Administrative Duties
  • Handle cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Prior supervisory and customer service experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift over 25 lbs, and use store equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Retail associates and stockroom leads.
