GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store and overall store operations when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the store, supervise associates, and ensure a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They also maintain merchandise presentation and cleanliness, and execute company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, including managing entry/exit controls, EAS devices, and security of cash areas and deliveries.
  • Keep egress clear and ensure customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms after hours.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize associates' efforts.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent and support the company's brand consistently.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
  • Handle daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards.
  • Manage merchandise receipt, processing, and organization.
  • Assist in merchandise placement and back stock management.
  • Reduce loss due to damage and ensure presentation guidelines are followed.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain customer service presence, and safeguard confidential information.
  • Maintain PVM system and conduct package inspections.
  • Implement company best practices to maximize productivity and minimize theft.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Ensure front-end standards, manage customer wait times, and train associates on POS systems and procedures.
  • Control break schedules and maintain equipment and supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper tagging of garments.
  • Ensure return compliance and security tagging.
Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager:
  • Handle cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Manage work processes, business acumen, planning, talent building, collaboration, leadership, communication, accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS equipment and basic math skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and lift over 25 lbs regularly. Stockroom roles require lifting over 20 lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The pay range is $13.50 - $14.00, dependent on experience and location. Benefits include insurance options, associate discounts, 401K, bonuses, and more, with additional benefits for full-time roles.
