GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a key member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific store area, overall store operations, and supervision when acting as Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the store, supervise associates, and ensure a friendly, well-maintained shopping environment. They also execute company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, including entrances/exits, EAS devices, cash office, and secure deliveries.
  • Keep egress clear and ensure customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms after hours.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism; recognize associates' contributions.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent and support the company brand consistently.
  • Maintain professional appearance and ensure store cleanliness and merchandise standards.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards; oversee merchandise receipt and organization.
  • Assist with merchandise placement and back-stock management.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a visible presence, and safeguard assets.
  • Maintain security systems and conduct inspections.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Ensure front-end standards are met, manage lines, and train associates on cash register procedures.
  • Control break schedules and maintain equipment and supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitting rooms.
  • Ensure proper tagging and return of merchandise.
Administrative Duties:
  • Oversee cash pulls, deposits, and payroll administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Manage work processes, business acumen, planning, talent building, collaboration, leadership by example, effective communication, accountability, and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Prior supervisory and customer service experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Must be able to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks as described.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
