Job description

Area Supervisor (Transportation)

Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring an Area Supervisor for our southwestern, FL market.

The Area Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing a designated area, coaching field employee performance through site observations, building positive client relationships, overseeing pre-construction planning and management, and promoting safety and quality standards in line with company values, vision, and mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Conduct daily site observations and report findings based on the designated area.
2. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, State DOT, and local municipalities within the designated area.
3. Manage pre-construction processes, including client meetings, internal job lead meetings, and other communications.
4. Serve as a subject matter expert for internal staff regarding order requirements such as personnel and equipment needs.
5. Meet regularly with the Field Manager to review employee performance and related metrics.
6. Complete and submit daily reports based on work zone observations.
7. Establish and strengthen relationships with direct reports through monthly site visits.
8. Assist in safety investigations of incidents when needed.
9. Provide coaching for Smart Drive and driver improvement programs.
10. Represent the organization professionally to clients, employees, and the public.
11. Handle HR requests and manage disciplinary actions according to company guidelines and timelines.
12. Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments.
13. Recommend field staff promotions to the Field Manager as appropriate.
