General Purpose

Supervises activities of associates and temporary workers, assesses production schedules and labor-hour needs, ensures policy and safety compliance, evaluates methods for improvements, and handles performance evaluations. Must demonstrate a proactive, 'make-it-happen' attitude, perseverance, and initiative. Responsible for fostering a positive, issue-free labor environment.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage hourly team to ensure timely processing and distribution of merchandise, using MAP process for training, assessment, motivation, and evaluation.
  2. Create a team culture that recognizes performance and maintains an issue-free environment, building strong relationships with other supervisors and departments, conducting daily meetings, enforcing policies, and managing corrective actions.
  3. Utilize HR services for payroll, benefits, investigations, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  4. Handle administrative tasks including evaluations, paperwork, and communication with merchandise managers.
  5. Participate in special projects and team events as needed.

Qualifications And Skills

  • BS degree or two years supervisory experience in production or merchandising (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across shifts and departments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

Work primarily on a warehouse concrete floor, involving sitting, standing, walking, talking, typing, and handling paperwork. Occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs. Visual acuity for print and electronic information.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Hourly associates in various roles including Checker, Marker, Packer, Material Handler, etc.
