GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and keeping a clean work area. They also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Safety: Practices safe behaviors, maintains awareness on the sales floor, corrects or reports unsafe conditions, and is responsible for security including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, and fire alarm systems.
  • Customer Service: Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism, and recognizes associates through company programs.
  • Personal and Store Brand: Maintains professional appearance, ensures store cleanliness and merchandise presentation, manages stock and markdowns, and ensures back-stock security and organization.
  • Loss Prevention: Complies with Loss Prevention programs, safeguards confidential information, maintains PVM system, and conducts package inspections.
  • Front End Supervision: Executes best practices, manages line speed, trains associates, controls break schedules, ensures equipment functionality, and teaches best practices like 'Scan and Bag.'
  • Fitting Rooms: Maintains cleanliness, audits tags, and ensures compliance with return policies.
  • Administrative Duties: Ensures cash handling and bank deposits are conducted per policy, manages payroll, and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Ability to use store equipment, stand/walk for up to 100% of shift, bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs (more for stockroom shifts).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Retail associates, stockroom associates, and leads where applicable.
