General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times. Area Supervisors are also responsible for executing and supervising Company operational processes as needed.
Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
- Understand safety is the top priority and practice safe behaviors in all tasks.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment. Correct or report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure security of the building including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, Cash Office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
- Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
- Prioritize customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
- Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms when needed.
Customer Service:
- Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognize Associates using Company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represent and support the Company brand always.
- Maintain a professional appearance per Dress Code. Ensure all Associates adhere to the Dress Code.
- Keep all areas of the Store clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
- Responsible for daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards through teaching and follow-up.
- Receive merchandise trucks when needed.
- Process all merchandise with urgency.
- Handle inbound deliveries (signs, supplies, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of Stockrooms.
- Assist with merchandise delivery and placement on the sales floor.
- Secure and process back-stock per policy.
- Merchandise department including back stock.
- Reduce loss due to damage.
- Follow presentation guidelines in assigned area.
- Manage floor moves and signage, including promotional signage.
- Perform re-wraps as needed.
Loss Prevention:
- Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a high customer service presence, and awareness.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information.
- Maintain Public View Monitor system.
- Conduct
