Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in Pasadena, CA seeks a seasoned Field Superintendent to oversee Start-Up, Air Balance, and Warranty groups. You will lead field activities, manage staffing, and ensure safety, QA/QC, and project execution standards across multiple sites.

The role requires directing operations, mentoring supervisors, and coordinating with vendors and labor relations representatives to meet project goals and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of field supervision experience in mechanical/heavy industrial projects.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, safety protocols, and union labor relations.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with other Field Superintendents and under the supervision of the Regional Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of the Start-Up, Air Balance, and Warranty group within the assigned area.

• Execution of QA/QC protocols Implementation of Safety Department’s protocols
• Engaging equipment vendors and third-party subcontractors
• Implementation of Acco policies and procedures
• Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union Collective Bargaining Agreements
• Planning for successful project installation
• Job Walks (with/for project management)
• Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviews
• Participation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetings
• Review project documents to determine the proper staffing requirements
• Assignment of field supervision and labor to projects
• Continuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest level
• Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standards
• Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goals
• Review and track project labor budgets
• Fill any project need gaps until job is assigned a field supervisor
• Engage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputes
• Knowledge of current building and mechanical code
• Encourage communication between the assigned project supervision and the associated PM/PE. Coordinate and assist with problem solving strategies with the PM and assigned supervision when issues rise beyond the scope or understanding/capability of the project supervision assigned.
