Job summary
Siemens in the Des Moines/Area is seeking an Area Operations Manager, Solutions to lead and direct operational execution for all customers in the assigned area, driving profitability, delivery performance, and adherence to Siemens SI B standards. The role works closely with PMO, Ops Excellence, and LPO to ensure consistent use of shared capabilities.
You will also support Sales with pricing and scope, plan workforce, and monitor costs to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of experience leading operations in a project-based, solutions, or engineering environment.
- Financial acumen including responsibility for revenue, margin, cost control, and cash flow.
- Experience partnering with Sales, Project Management, and operations.
- Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Drive end-to-end operational performance across the assigned area, adhering to Siemens SI B standards and defined processes.
- Meet/exceed quarterly and annual budget commitments (revenue, margin, operating margin).
- Plan, direct, and oversee operational activities to support sustainable growth and project execution.
- Monitor project performance to control costs, manage risk, and ensure on-schedule, in-scope delivery.
- Partner with central Operations teams to leverage standard tools and best practices.
- Provide operational and technical support to Sales, including pricing guidance, scope, and execution strategy.
- Lead workforce planning by hiring, developing, and managing resources.
- Ensure balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital performance align with North Star goals.
- Maintain alignment with Area General Management on market strategy and growth initiatives.

As an Area Operations Manager, Solutions , you will lead and direct operational execution across all customers within your assigned area. You will be accountable for profitable growth, operational excellence, and delivery performance, while ensuring alignment with Siemens SI B standards. This role works in close partnership with central Operations functions—including PMO, Operations Excellence, and the Large Project Organization (LPO)—to ensure consistent use of shared capabilities, best practices, and premium project delivery.
- Drive end-to-end operational performance across the assigned area, ensuring adherence to Siemens SI B standards, defined sales processes, and execution methodologies
- Meet and/or exceed quarterly and annual budget commitments, including revenue, gross margin, and operating margin targets
- Plan, direct, and oversee operational activities to support sustainable growth and consistent project execution excellence
- Monitor project performance to control job costs, manage risk, and ensure delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and cost parameters
- Partner closely with central Operations teams (PMO, Operations Excellence, and LPO) to leverage standard tools, resources, and best practices
- Provide operational and technical support to Sales teams, including pricing guidance, scope definition, and execution strategy for competitive bids
- Lead workforce planning by hiring, developing, allocating, and performance-managing resources to support current and future business needs
- Ensure balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital performance are in line with Siemens and SI B North Star expectations
- Maintain close alignment with Area General Management on market strategy, execution priorities, and growth initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of experience leading operations in a project-based, solutions, or engineering environment
- Financial acumen, including responsibility for revenue, margin, cost control, and cash flow performance
- Experience partnering effectively with Sales, Project Management, and operations organizations
- High School diploma or state-recognized GED
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Technical and operational expertise relevant to solutions-based delivery environments
- People leadership capability, including talent development and workforce planning
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship management and issue-resolution skills
The pay range for this position is $105,533 - $180,913 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
