Amazon Corporate Security is seeking an experienced, self-motivated security leader who embodies Amazon’s Leadership Principles, particularly Customer Obsession, Ownership, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action. The role involves overseeing security at multiple sites, conducting assessments, managing incidents, and providing security consultancy.

The Area Security Manager reports to a Regional Security Manager and is responsible for implementing all elements of the Corporate Security program across assigned locations, supporting daily operations, security assessments, crisis response, and stakeholder engagement.

This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to export control regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver security services to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Manage daily security operations across multiple sites.
• Act as a trusted security advisor with strong communication skills.
• Develop and implement security plans, policies, and response procedures.
• Coordinate incident response and address security concerns.
• Monitor external threats and minimize risks.
• Align security metrics and strategic goals across regions.
• Engage with stakeholders and external partners to build relationships.

A Day in the Life

• Oversee guarding operations and vendor performance.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and security partners.
• Develop performance metrics and security improvement plans.
• Conduct site assessments and security drills.
• Lead incident investigations and support organizational safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields.
• Minimum 7 years of security experience in a large or global organization, including management.
• Experience managing service providers and security operations.
• Strong communication, risk management, and crisis response skills.
• Ability to support domestic and international travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or relevant certifications.
• Experience in corporate security for large companies.
• Knowledge of crisis operations, legal contracts, and security technology.
• Security clearance: Active Top Secret U.S. government clearance.
