Area Sales Manager, Channel

Position Overview

This position reports to the District Sales Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Great Lakes territory, leading channel-focused sales teams.
  2. Achieve volume growth, maintain price/quality/margin targets, control costs, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Focus on stock business, small projects, and residential growth.
  4. Provide leadership for the Channel team, aligning strategies and programs with local coverage targets.
  5. Support residential growth strategies, product launches, and customer adoption.
  6. This is a remote role; candidates should be located near Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH, or Cleveland, OH.
  7. Contribute to ABB's Electrification Smart Buildings division in the US.
  8. Coordinate with local channel sales, regional partners, and national account managers to align priorities and support escalation decisions.
  9. Develop training plans for channel employees.
  10. Conduct customer surveys, act on feedback, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  11. Manage key local accounts, relationships, negotiations, and contract results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a technical field (preferred).
  • Minimum 8+ years of sales experience, with channel sales experience required.
  • Experience in the electrical market is strongly preferred.
  • Sales experience managing a business of $25M+.
  • Proven success managing internal and external sales personnel.
  • Ability to travel within IN, MI, OH, PA, WV as needed.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.
