Job description

Area Sales Manager - Agribusiness (Red River Valley, ND/MN)

John Deere is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Red River Valley area (Eastern North Dakota/Northwest Minnesota). This is a remote position that may require travel up to 50% domestically to support agricultural retailers and producers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and develop crop input finance programs to increase sales and provide solutions for agricultural retailers and their customers.
  • Act as a liaison between retailers and JDF resources, improving processes and resolving issues.
  • Serve as a Subject-Matter-Expert for the JDF agribusiness channel in your geographic footprint.
  • Communicate market conditions, competition, and customer issues to key stakeholders to support profitable growth.
  • Increase retailer demand and grower awareness of JDF Multi-Use products.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to meet with retailers, producers, and manufacturing reps.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales calls and use this information to strengthen relationships.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, credit, or related business fields.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and planning skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of JDF Multi-Use Account programs.
  • Experience in the agricultural industry, including crop inputs, markets, and competitors.
  • Sales experience in financial services or equipment.
  • Proven track record of improving business performance.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Marketing/Sales, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation and Benefits: $92,400 - $138,600 annually plus benefits, including flexible work arrangements, competitive pay, retirement plans, healthcare, tuition assistance, and more. Learn more about our Total Rewards Package.
