Job Description

The Area Production Manager assists with the supervision of the planning, organizing, and directing of production activities and employee placement, training, and development to cost-effectively produce a high-quality finished product. Responsible for coordinating all activities within the assigned area of the plant, including managing multiple Production Supervisors. Will be responsible for all financial, safety, quality, and regulatory matters in the area. Ensures all food preparation and packaging comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety regulations, and Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS).

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and role model KHMS through daily performance meetings, leader standard work, and problem solving tools (RCA).
  2. Ensure product quality and Food Safety by adhering to GMPs, SOPs, and Kraft Heinz specifications.
  3. Manage costs, productivity, planning, labor scheduling, raw materials, and sanitation for the area.
  4. Organize and facilitate production activities to meet safety, quality, employee relations, productivity, and cost standards.
  5. Collaborate with Product Development, Suppliers, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  6. Support employee involvement in safety, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Maintain compliance with all area practices and policies.
  8. Coordinate weekly scheduling with Demand and Supply groups to optimize efficiency.
  9. Prepare and follow-up on records, reports, and forms.
  10. Ensure effective communication across functions and with stakeholders.
  11. Monitor productivity data and implement corrective actions for improvements.
  12. Implement safety measures and conduct safety meetings to prevent accidents.
  13. Report safety and quality issues for corrective action.
  14. Manage daily operations to meet efficiency standards.
  15. Manage the budget for the area according to the annual plan.
  16. Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and communicate goals.
  17. Partner with leadership on process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, Lean, KHMS).
  18. Develop high-performing teams through coaching, training, and communication.
  19. Assist in supervising production staff, including performance management.
  20. Ensure sanitation procedures support product quality and safety.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  3. Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production lines.
  4. Knowledge of federal and state regulations (EEO, OSHA, FDA, USDA).
  5. Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
  6. Exposure to high-speed food processing systems.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000

This role is eligible for a performance-based bonus.
