Quikrete Materials is seeking an Area Operations Manager to lead terminal operations, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost control across multiple locations. You will drive performance metrics, manage budgets, and oversee capital investments while maintaining regulatory compliance and strong customer service.

The role requires travel, hands-on leadership, and a track record in cement or related industries, with a proactive approach to changing conditions and processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of workplace safety and safety program implementation.
• Experience managing multiple locations across states.
• Ability to develop and manage operating budgets per location.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance in industrial environments.
• Project management and capital projects planning/execution.
• Knowledge of truck, rail, and barge logistics throughout supply chain.
• Ability to lead employees at multiple locations with servant leadership.
• Experience with bulk powders, silo storage, material handling.
• Willingness/ability to travel regularly.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• 5 years cement industry or related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee terminal operations to meet schedule, quality, and forecasted costs.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives to reduce fixed and variable costs.
• Foster a safety-first culture and engage staff on safety initiatives.
• Promote positive work environment and employee engagement through training and development.
• Support community involvement and uphold corporate image.
• Oversee capital investments within budget and time constraints.
• Develop and execute strategies aligning with logistics business and marketing plans.
• Manage the unit's budget, capital expenditures, and P&L accountability.
• Ensure DOT and regulatory compliance for safety/environmental policies.
• Collaborate with Terminal Managers to optimize shipping routes and data insights.
• Leverage TMS to improve outbound shipping and data integrity.
• Develop and monitor KPIs and operational metrics.
• Direct Dispatcher operations to ensure terminal efficiency and customer service.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, and performance management of Terminal Managers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement.
