Job summary

Ross Stores in Opelika, Alabama, seeks an Area Supervisor to oversee a designated store area and assist management with daily operations.

You will supervise Associates, ensure safety, maintain merchandise presentation, and support front-end and loss prevention processes while upholding Ross leadership standards. This role requires flexibility to open/close shifts, train staff, and respond to emergencies, with focus on a friendly, efficient shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe & secure environment in store.
• Supervises Associates and supports Store Manager on duty.
• Ensures proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Executes and supervises Company operational processes.
• Leads loss prevention and cash handling procedures.
• Performs payroll and scheduling tasks as assigned.
• Manages stockrooms and back-stock organization.
