Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Houston, TX to lead a dedicated hourly workforce and ensure safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards are met. You will coordinate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and HR to align plans with business objectives and customer delivery promises.

The role requires 2+ years in people/managment and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with flexibility for weekends, nights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends/nights/holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
• Work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures, including outside loading areas.
• Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable.
• Lead workforce to meet customer delivery expectations.
