Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Dallas, TX is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly workers, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time customer deliveries. You will coordinate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and HR to meet business objectives and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced fulfillment environment.

The role requires 2+ years of management experience or military equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree or similar credential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• A Bachelor's degree or International Equivalent, OR 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience, OR 6+ years of Military Experience.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience (preferred).
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees (preferred).
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma) (preferred).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills (preferred).
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
• Industry experience in multiple sectors (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
• Work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments)
• Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)
• Our fulfillment network launches new Operations sites every year, providing growth opportunities
