Job summary

OnTrac is hiring a HUB Area Manager in Dayton, NJ. This onsite role leads sort activities across the facility, drives performance, and implements improvements to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will manage a team of handlers, monitor progress, and coordinate scheduling while reporting to the Operations Manager. The position requires leadership, data analysis, and strong communication in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• GED or Diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of logistics, shipping, or 3PL experience with at least 1 year in leadership.
• Ability to evaluate data and present answers clearly.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and math skills.
• Strong communication skills and experience in hiring, training, and evaluating employees.

Responsibilities

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities.
• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute administrative duties, including safety training, operational audits, and end-of-shift reporting.

2270 US Highway 130, Dayton, NJ 08010. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Shift(s)

PM Shift – Friday to Monday (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation

The expected starting base pay range for this position is $59,840 - $74,800, with full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $59,840- $89,760. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job‑related factors.

Employment Logistics

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

The Must-Haves

• GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees
