Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly associates and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will engage the team during shifts to meet customer delivery promises across all stages of order fulfillment.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, collaborating with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and HR to meet business objectives, and working in a dynamic environment with lifting, long shifts, and variable temps.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for up to 12 hours
• Work in variable temperatures and outdoor loading environments
• Climb and descend stairs where applicable
