Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Coppell, TX to lead a team of hourly employees across multiple workflows (First, Middle, and Last mile) and ensure safety, quality, and on-time deliveries. You will engage the team during shifts, mentor staff, and partner with Safety, Engineering, and HR to meet business goals.

The role requires 2+ years of people management, a relevant degree (or equivalent/2+ years Amazon experience), and flexibility for weekend/nights/holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.
• Industry experience in retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, etc. environments.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in an environment with variable temperatures and noise
• Work in environments with stairs (where applicable)

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
