Job summary

AlphaBEST Education, Inc. is seeking a full-time Area Manager based in LaPlata, MD, overseeing Charles and PG County elementary sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, staff recruitment, program quality, licensing compliance, and cross-site collaboration with the Regional Director. You will recruit and develop a multi-site team, monitor curricula and performance, maintain scheduling and payroll processes, and build strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Education, Business Management or related field preferred; Master’s degree or higher a plus.
• Experience in an elementary school setting, school administration, or school-age childcare strongly desired.
• Strong organizational, communication and supervisory skills in a multi-site environment.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, creative and sensitive to children.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with a diverse population.
• Knowledge of state policies and procedures regarding child care regulations.
• Proven ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Basic Microsoft Office experience.

• Conduct interviews and select staff passionate about children and learning.
• Build a cohesive team with collaborative opportunities and effective conflict management.
• Set high standards of performance and accountability for self and others.
• Observe, coach, train and provide feedback to staff around programming.
• Understand and maintain knowledge of current curriculum used in sites.
• Evaluate program quality and progress with Site Directors and Education Specialists.
• Ensure licensing compliance at all sites.
